On 18th September 2025, the Amity School of Languages (ASL) organized a student activity titled “Films Without Frontiers – International Film Screening”. The event aimed to encourage cross-cultural dialogue, enhance vocabulary in French and Japanese, and highlight cinema as a powerful educational tool to ignite conversations and broaden perspectives.
The primary aim of the event was to foster intercultural understanding, cinematic appreciation, and global awareness through the medium of international short films. It sought to provide students with an opportunity to experience authentic cultural narratives, improve their foreign language learning in a relaxed and engaging environment, and develop critical thinking by reflecting on themes of identity, resilience, companionship, and self-expression as portrayed in the films.
The interactive discussions not only strengthened language learning but also cultivated empathy, creativity, and global awareness among participants. The enthusiasm of the students, combined with the thoughtful guidance of faculty members, ensured that the session was not just an academic exercise but a memorable celebration of cinema as a bridge between cultures
